Coronavirus

Whoever thought that when we first learned of the coronavirus in January, that we’d still be in the throes of a  global pandemic in March? Now, I just heard that we’ll be in our homes until APRIL!

If you’re like me, you’re sick and tired of staying home and watching the grass grow. Seeing family is nice, but after a while, the novelty of having the kids around starts to wear thin. Did you ever think you’d be chomping at the bit to get back to work? But, despite the best interventions, the virus continues to spread.

If I hear “WASH YOUR HANDS” one more time…Let’s talk handwashing for a bit. Scrub with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, long enough to sing the “Happy Birthday” song, twice. Rinse from your wrists to your fingertips, drying with a paper towel, if possible. If you use a towel, replace it daily.

Speaking of television, you can’t seem to turn it on without seeing coverage of the virus and the toll it’s taking around the world. But most of the coverage I see is of the virus effects in the United States. I just heard that public health officials are expecting a surge of 40,000 hospitalizations in Chicago alone-this probably represents the Chicago suburbs too; but guess where I live: Chicago!

For the next few weeks, coverage here will be largely about coronavirus and its impact on our bodies and lives. I’ll be researching and hopefully, I’ll be able to answer some unanswered questions; or questions that have been answered but need some clarification. Please feel free to contact me using the form on the front page and I’ll return your post as soon as possible.
